应用背景超像素分割是一个越来越流行的图像预处理技术，运用在许多计算机视觉应用中，如图像分割，图像处理，目标跟踪，三维重建等。通过像素聚类成感知有意义的可以很好地附着在对象边界的小补丁，超像素分割提供了一种简洁的图像表示。相对于像素刚性图像表示，超像素与人类视觉认知更加一致，并且含有较少的冗余。此外，致密均匀的超像素分割可以作为对于视觉特征提取的空间支持。关键技术在本文中我们提出了一个超像素分割算法的方法称为线性谱聚类（LSC），它提供较低计算量的致密均匀的超像素。总的来说，就是测量图像像素之间的颜色相似性和空间接近度，超像素分割的标准化分割算法采用了这种度量方法。但是，我们近似的相似性度量使用的是核函数，它使得像素值和坐标明确地映射到高维特征空间，而不是使用基本特征的传统算法。我们重新审视这一结论，即在这个高维特征空间中，通过对各点进行适当的加权，加权值k-均值和归一化分割共享相同的目标函数最佳点。这样可以优化这一标准化分割函数，即在该特征空间中通过反复运用简单的k-均值聚集。LSC具有线性的计算复杂性和高存储效率，能够保持图像的全局特性。实验结果表明，在图像分割中，LSC在几种评价指标方面表现出同样的或者更好的技术发展水平。
