This letter presents a novel algorithm to compute the instantaneous frequency (IF) of a multicomponent nonstationary signal using a combination of fractional spectrograms (FS). A high resolution time frequency distribution (TFD) is defined by com-bining FS computed using windows of varying lengths and chirp rates. The IF of individual signal components is then computed by applying a peak detection and component extraction procedure

SRIM is a software that does Monte Carlo simulation of ion implantations. It can estimate the distribution of ions and target damages after an implantation. SRIMRangeDist helps SRIM users to plot the ion distribution data a SRIM output with relative ease. In some occassions, SRIM users need to calculate the distribution statistics of a series of several ion implantations and do a trial-and-error work to get the optimal implantation parameters. Performing this kind of task manually in a data processing software can be a bit mundane. SRIMRangeDist allows users to plot multiple implantation profiles on the same graph, and it computes the total distribution and the 95 confidence interval of the distribution for a quick reviewing of many implantation scenarios.

Matlab M-Files:There are four ways of doing code in Matlab. One can directly enter code in a terminal window. This amounts to using Matlabas a kind of calculator, and it is good for simple, low-level work. The second method is to create a script M-fi le. Here, one makes a fi le with the same code one would enter in a terminal window. When the fi le is “run”, the script is carried out. The third method is the function M-fi le. This method actually creates a function, with inputs and outputs. The fourth method will not be discussed here. It is a way to incorporate C code or FORTRAN code into Matlab this method uses .mex fi les. We will not disucss it here.
